Hello Patrons of the Hackettstown Free Public Library!
December is upon us! To get into the giving spirit, I would just like to suggest to all of you that if you are looking for a way to give your time or money back to your community, the library is a great place to do so.
The Friends of the Hackettstown Library can always use more help and will be very thankful for your contribution, no matter how big or small. This includes joining the organization or making a monetary donation to help them sponsor library programs, events, collections, and technology. The members are always working on exciting new ways to raise funds and the profile of the library in our community, and you can join in the action! A membership drive will be taking place on 12/2 at the library so come on down, enjoy a cookie (or two) and meet a Friend of the Library.
Speaking of the Friends of the Hackettstown Library, they are hosting their annual Holiday Mini-Bazaar on 12/7 from 9-8pm and 12/8 from 9-3pm. All kinds of donated and gently-used items will be for sale at very reasonable prices.
The very next day, on 12/9, from 10-2pm, Wyrd Lily will be here at the library to sell unique gift items as well. The items range from jewelry to blown-glass ornaments featuring literary and pop culture figures. These gifts are perfect for the secret Santa who is difficult to buy for or the person who has everything. A portion of all sales will benefit the library.

On 12/16 we have local author Michael Caprio coming to talk about and sell copies of his book, “A Bump in the Road.” This book chronicles his battle with a rare genetic condition. https://hackettstownlibrary.org/event/author-michael-caprio-book-talk-signing/
And to get you into the holiday spirit, we are hosting a “Wrap & Yap” program here on 12/21. Bring your gifts and we will all wrap them together while listening to music, enjoying cocoa and cookies, and swapping stories. Fun will be had by all!

Finally, on behalf of myself and the entire HFPL staff, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Happy New Year. We are lucky to be supported by such a wonderful community and we have some great things in store for you next year.
Come and visit us soon! We can’t wait to see you!
