Healthy Eating: New Year’s Resolutions
Join us for a lunchtime webinar with Dietitian Corina Palagruto in reviewing recommended “Healthy Eating” New Year’s resolutions. These resolutions are bite-sized changes that can make a big impact on your health. Corina explains how to set smart resolutions that actually stick, and how changes like increasing your fruit and vegetable consumption can benefit your overall health.

Join Weis Markets Registered Dietitian Kimberly Varner for a cooking demo focusing on healthy food in the new year. During the presentation, Kimberly will be making a Kale & Blueberry Salad recipe, and showing how to make a Grain Bowl. Everyone will get to sample each recipe, and we will discuss general tips for healthy eating.

The Rabbi and the Puppeteer : Rabbi Leo Baeck and “Honzo” David Ben Shalom
Rabbi Leo Baeck, ignoring his own safety and survival during the Holocaust was the savior for many refugees even from the inside of Theresienstadt concentration camp; his grandnephew Jan Baeck escaped the Czech Republic to a Palestine kibbutz and became a renown puppeteer appointed by UNESCO to promote peace among the children of Displaced Persons camps. Dr. Peter Lubrecht is Jan Baeck’s cousin who changed his name to Honzo David Ben Shalom. This presentation tells the tale of the strength and courage of these men during Holocaust Remembrance Day.
This program is open to the public and will feature refreshments. It will be taking place at the Schenk Lodge at House of the Good Shepherd – 798 Willow Grove St., Hackettstown.
